Towles Court is an enclave that was once home to Sarasota’s first mayor, and had fallen into disrepair by the 1980s. It was redeveloped to create an artist community around a central “art walkway.” The transformation involved redesigning, reconcepting, and infill development to create this shady downtown district that is now home to some of Sarasota’s most unique dining destinations, art galleries, shops and studios.
